ARE YOU SOMEONE OR DO YOU KNOW SOMEONE WHO…
The process of becoming Catholic involves several steps:
1. Inquiry Meeting: Here we get to know you a little bit. What brought you to this point? What is drawing you to Catholicism? At this meeting, one of our priests will discuss what the journey might entail for you. He will discuss the process and answer any initial questions you might have. Inquiry interviews are done in person. To set up your interview, you may call Fr. Kevin Segerblom or Fr. William Buckley at the parish office to schedule a meeting.
2. Mass attendance: If you have not attended a Catholic Mass before, now is the time! Mass attendance is the most crucial part of this journey. If you have a Catholic friend, ask them to accompany you and give you a brief tutorial on what happens at Mass. Or, you may contact Ginny or Erik for assistance in attending Mass for your first time. All participants in the RCIA process are expected to regularly attend a weekend Mass.
3. Classes: Classes are held every Thursday from 6:30 PM to 8:15 PM. Classes are very important as they are an opportunity to come together in a small group to learn more about our faith. Sessions focus on the teachings and experience of the Church and prepare individuals to celebrate the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist. Consistent class attendance is a must.
4. Mystagogy: The word means "to lead through the mysteries." During this time we discover what it means to fully participate in the mysteries of the sacraments of the Church.
